Why Flexify Is Not on ThemeForest
The lack of sales momentum
Over the past year, we’ve observed a steady sales decline on ThemeForest, ranging from 5% to 15% month over month, even when compared to periods where we were releasing fewer products.
Today, we publish on average 10 new, fully modern themes per month – the highest releasereleas rate on the entire marketplace. With that level of output and quality, growth would be the expected outcome. Instead, we’re seeing the opposite.
Looking at the broader picture:
- Authors in the Top-20 Envato rankings face an average decline of ~15%.
- Outside the Top-20, the situation is even more challenging – by our estimates, up to a 30% decline.
This doesn’t look like an individual author issue. It looks systemic.
Observed Marketplace Trends
Despite releasing 10 modern themes per month, growth did not follow-indicating a systemic platform issue, not an author-specific one.
The Forum Closure: A Warning Sign
In August, ThemeForest closed its public forum.
For years, the forum was the central communication hub for authors and customers. There were quite a few shutdown signals:

- Slower marketplace evolution
Not a catastrophe, but a clear signal.
A Platform That Stopped Evolving
Outside of minor changes, ThemeForest has seen:
- No meaningful UX improvements
- No better discovery systems

Structurally, it feels unchanged-and that matters.
In recent years, the most notable “new feature” was a Quantity Selector – something that might have felt innovative in 2005, but certainly not in 2025.
Beyond that, there have been no meaningful UX, discovery, or author-centric improvements – despite years of announcements, promises, and wishlists.
